| Exquisite facility. World class bar. Extraordinary staff.
My girlfriend and I are both in the airline industry and have traveled extensively. The Merchant ranks at the top of my list of all hotel experiences. Most notable for me was the staff. One instance personifies the experience. Shortly after handing the car keys to a member of the bell staff came a knock at our door. On a silver platter (literally) were presented my girlfriends gloves, neatly crossed. "Madame, you might be needing these as it is quite chilly outside." She had left them on the dash of the car. William, one of the Concierge staff, personally escorted us to a restaurant several blocks away one evening when time had escaped us and we had yet to dine. Another very important point to make regarding the staff, though extraordinarily well trained on the finer things in life, there is absolutely no air of arrogance or snootiness. These are just genuine and sincere folks that epitomize Irish hospitality. We both had high expectations of our stay. All were exceeded. |

| We managed to get this hotel at one of its better rates. Im not sure I would pay their full rate for a hotel but no one could say it isn't value for money. Great staff and everything was to a top standard. Perfect for those special occassions. |

| I spend 50% of my time out of home, traveling worldwide and can tell you with full confidence that the Merchant is undoubtedly the best hotel in Belfast, and possibly one of the best hotels you will ever stay
The Merchant is the greatest example to many 5 star hotels worldwide on how to deliver the best service without the obnoxious arrogance peculiar to the high end establishments.
The rooms are impeccable, restaurant and it's ambience outstanding, bar service (all 03) absolutely spot on - by the way, an internationally awarded 'best hotel bar' multiple times. However, make no mistake, the real factor making the difference are the people. Everyone, absolutely everyone in the staff is helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly passionate an committed to deliver nothing for the best

| The Merchant Hotel in Belfast exceeded all of our expectations for service and comfort. The building's dining room alone deserves accolades. Excellent concierge service. |

| The hotel is luxe, but as a business traveler I would have liked the gym and breakfast to be open for a wider range of hours. Additionally, some instructions on connecting to the internet and similar advice for working travelers would have been helpful. |
